We Have Now Had The Pleasure Of Enjoying Our Front Yard Via A NewChain Link Fence. For Those Of You Who Haven’t Heard Us Complain About The Road In Front Of The House (you Are Few And Far Between) - We Livenext Toan Extremely Busy, loud, road That Semis Actually Use. And Before You Ask - No We Did Not Realize This When We Purchased The House Nor Would It Have Changed Things As This Was The Only Property We Looked At That Did Not Need To Be Torn Down Or Have Decades Of Lead Paint Removed From It. Our House Did Have One Problem, a Giant Front Yard With NoChain Link Fence. This Obviously Is A Problem When You Have A Little Boy Who Thinks It Is The Most Fun To Run Up And Down Ramps, well The Hill Was One GIANT Ramp:)
My Parents Came Out To Staunton With The Intent Of Building Us AChain Link Fence. Not Only Did We Get TheChain Link Fence Up In Time, they Brought Cool Weather With Them And We Had A Lovely Time. We Were Extremely Thankful Onall Fronts. pouch beltChain Link Fence Was A Giant Success!
Then Our Neighbors (pouch belt Ones We Sent Ananonymous Letter To About Their EIGHT Dogs Barking And Waking Us Up At 6:30AM) Nicely Called The Staunton Authorities And Turned Us In For A City Code Violation. Our BeautifulChain Link Fence Was 5″ To Tall. Yes The Code Was There And Yes I Read What I Thought Was All The City Code Pertaining To Chain Link Fences And Yes I Missed It (so In The End We Would Have Followed Code If I Did Not Mess Up) BUT These Nice People Decided They Need To Send The Police To O. . . . . . I Of Course Called After Receiving Our Notice Of Violation To Get The Details Of Our So Called ‘offense’ .
In The End It Was Very Harmless And Chris Was Able To Go Outside And Replicate The Angel My Dad Had Put On TheChain Link Fence. We Pulled Our Chalk Line And After An Hour Proudly Proclaimed That We Were Capable And Lowered OurChain Link Fence By 5″ . It Truly Does Not Make A Huge Difference. Cars Used To Disappear Under OurChain Link Fence Line When Sitting On The Deck And Now We Can Just Barely See The Tops Of Them. So The Long And Short Is That We Tried To Be Somewhat Neighborly And Not Call The Police Even Though Our Sleep Had Been Interrupted For About A Month And Our Friendly Neighbors In Virginia (who Are Contractors) Sneaked Over In The Middle Of The Night, measured OurChain Link Fence And Then Reported Us For Building A Beautiful WoodChain Link Fence That Only Makes Our Neighborhood Look Better Because Of 5″ . (Again Please Note That I Messed Up And We Would Have Abided If We Knew. But The Premise Of The Thing Is Well Just Comical. . . . . . ..
